Grieve gives Cupar grief

A severely depleted Shipyard team braved a storming second half fight-back from Cupar so score a late late winner and secure a deserved win in this league match at Recreation Park. With Ferrier and McAndrew suspended and a few others unavailable, the shipyard were down to 13 players, but no-one let their manager down as everyone gave their all to keep the recent good run going. Hammy goal leads the way to another victory

With Wallsgreen park frost bound the fixture was switched to Recreation Park which was playable after a morning inspection. The Shipyard took full advantage of being at home and chalked up a more comfortable victory than the scoreline suggested. A late goal from Bowhill made it a more difficult last few minutes than it could have been for the Shipyard, though in all fairness it was still the Shipyard that looked the more likely to score. The same eleven that thrashed Strathmiglo last week started again this week, with the only change being that Bryan Cook was added to the squad and took his place on the bench. Strath blown away in Shipyard onslaught

Strathmiglo were blown away by more than the strong wind as the Shipyard ran riot in the first half, taking a 6 – 0 lead into the break. It cannot be very often that a team wins 8 – 1 and the goalkeeper is the man of the match, however, that was the scenario today as Andy Martin enjoyed a remarkable match. The Shipyard starting eleven showed one change from last week with Grieve replacing the unavailable Cook. New signing Stuart Gray took his place amongst the substitutes. Read the rest of this entry »
