Glendale Plastics League
Eastvale. 3 Burntisland Shipyard. 3
The points were shared in this sometimes tousy but very entertaining match at Windygates. The Shipyard took the lead after 6 minutes when Stephen Bristow latched onto a poor pass-back to coolly slot home. The lead only lasted until the 13th minute when Eastvale levelled after some poor defending. Both teams were creating chances as the referee struggled to keep a lid on things, however, it remained all square at half-time.
Eastvale took the lead 9 minutes into the second half but, once again the lead was short lived, this time the Shipyard equalised in the 59th minute through a Brian Muirhead penalty after Eastvale’s keeper Gardner brought down Bristow. Eastvale were ahead again 2 minutes later and during the goal celebrations an altercation took place which led to Neil Aitken being sent off, where he looked to be acting peacemaker and an Eastvale player cautioned. The Shipyard dug deep and despite being down to 10 men scored a superb equaliser when after good work between Jack and Johnston, Bristow was on hand to head in his second goal of the game after 76 minutes. The match could still have went either way with both teams having strong penalty claims turned down but, there was to be no more scoring and both teams had to settle for a point each.
