Young Shipyard player Rory Mahady has joined the Celtic 2006 squad. Seven year old Rory is a goalkeeper and has already enjoyed success with his new team as last week they competed in and won a tournament hosted by Blackburn Rovers. Rory’s father Lee said “I’m over the moon for him. Hopefully he can continue to progress and have a career in the game though it is very early days yet”. Notwithstanding Rory’s obvious talent, it is great testament to the coaches at the club that our youngsters are being noticed and everyone at the club is delighted for Rory and his family. On top of U/15 player Ryan Stewart being picked to play for Scotland and other youngsters catching the eye of scouts, it is another sign of the player development the club is striving for.
