Burntisland Shipyard AFC run a youth development set up for local youngsters. At the moment the age groups covered are from 1999’s, to 2004′s. Training takes place at Recreation Park, Burntisland for all age groups.

All groups have at least two coaches looking after them who have Disclosure

 Scotland clearance and all coaches are qualified or being put through their coaching courses. All football is under the jurisdiction of the S.Y.F.A. 

The 1999’s group are now participating in 11 a-side football,the Fife Development League, still on a small size pitch and playing their home matches at Recreation Park on Sunday’s with 12 noon kick-off’s. Local business SM AUTOS, has kindly sponsored the playing kit. This group is led by Dave Costello and Brian Blake. The 2001 group have now joined The Fife Soccer Sevens Development Association at the Pitreavie Playing Fields in Dunfermline, led by Clark Christie, Steve Morrison and Steve Salters, this takes place on a Sunday morning. The Fife Soccer Sevens set up is widely regarded as one of the best ran and best attended youth football programmes in Scotland with almost 800 children taking part. The 2002’s and 2003’s are led by Alan Cooper, Ralph Watson and Mark Meldrum, with the 2003′s having two teams taking part Pitreavie on a Saturday morning. A 2004′s group is training at Recreation Park on a Wednesday night with Dave Costello leading them. 

The club hope that led by these Coaches the Players will continue through all age groups up to under 19 level when they will be ready to play for the adult Burntisland Shipyard AFC team.
