Crossgates Primrose 2-1 Burntisland Shipyard.

The Shipyard continued their pre-season build up with a short trip up the road to face Crossgates at Humbug Park. Both teams had many new faces following summer overhauls, with the Shippy listing six players from their new U/20 set up in the nineteen man squad. Despite the poor weather conditions the teams produced a decent spectacle with plenty of chances at either end, with the hosts scoring two late headed goals to cancel out Lee Halpin’s fine lobbed effort in the first half.

In typical friendly match fashion, the host of substitutions made disrupted the flow of the game and with the Shippy using all eight subs they perhaps suffered more than Crossgates as the concession of the two late goals illustrated.
