The Club is delighted to announce that it’s application to join the Lowland/EOS U/20 Development League has been successful. As the title suggests the league comprises of teams from both leagues such as Spartans, Cumbernauld and BSC Glasgow from the Lowland and Lothian Thistle HV, Tynecastle and Heriot Watt Uni from the East of Scotland. Three other clubs have also been successful in their applications, those being Selkirk, Mid Annandale and Bonnyton Thistle. The league will comprise of 16 teams in total. Matches take place on Friday evenings at a kick off time and venue that has still to be 100% rubber stamped.
The season will start mid August and preparations are already at an advanced stage with the coaching team in place and training due to start on Tuesday 13th June. Head coach John Shaw commented “I see this as a great opportunity for young players across Fife to progress their careers at youth level rather than sit on a bench for a junior or amateur team and not get much, if any, game time. For players that may be too old for an Under 19 team this gives them a great chance to develop further”. He went on to add “This will be a top quality league we are entering, with a very good standard of football played at good facilities wherever we are playing.
