Over the last couple of weeks several cup draws have been made that involve the club and there are some familiar names and some not so familiar among them.
The Shippy have a tough match on their hands in the Fife Cup as we travel to take on newly promoted East Fife at New Bayview. In the South Challenge Cup we welcome an old friend and adversary in the shape of Glasgow University. We have clashed on several occasions in the old Qualifying Cup and Scottish Cup with the last meeting, prior to us joining the East of Scotland League, resulting in a narrow 1-0 win for the students in Glasgow. Should we progress to the next round we will face a somewhat unknown opponent to us as Dumfries YMCA of the South of Scotland League would visit Recreation Park. The Football Nation EoS Cup also throws up a difficult challenge to the Shipyard with an away tie against Lowland league side Preston Athletic, who we met in the same competition two years ago, with the winner facing an equally difficult match at home to East of Scotland League champions Leith Athletic. Finally, we have been drawn in section A of the East of Scotland League Cup and meet familiar faces in the shape of Ormiston, Peebles Rovers, Coldstream, Eyemouth United and Lothian Thistle HV.
