Burntisland Shipyard.3 Kinross.1

Scottish Brewers Cup 1st Round

Burntisland Shipyard 3. Kinross 1.
The Shipyard returned to winning ways after a poor run of form, coming from behind to beat Kinross. The squad was strengthened by the return to the club of Chris Millar and Stephen Bristow. Billy Whitehead was in charge for his first game as caretaker manager.
In a quiet first half Kinross took the lead after 27 minutes when McLean shot home from inside the box. The second half was 12 minutes old when the Shipyard were awarded a contentious penalty for hand ball. The alleged culprit was then sent off for contesting the decision. Muirhead scored to make it 1-1. In 70 minutes the Shipyard went ahead with a good finish from the edge of the box by Bristow. 2 minutes later the Shipyard were awarded another penalty, this time for a foul in the box. Muirhead also took this kick but, Daeth saved the shot diving to his right to push the ball away. In the 75th minute it was 10 aside when Jack received a second yellow card. This gave Kinross a boost but it was Johnston who scored again for the Shipyard after 85 minutes to make it 3-1 and seal their place in the next round.
