The Shipyard continued their build up to the new season with a 6-2 win over Crossgates Primrose in a friendly match at Recreation Park on Thursday night. JP McPhail had the Shippy ahead inside three minutes with a fine finish from the edge of the box. Crossgates levelled on 20 minutes when a defensive mix up led to an own goal being conceded. However, goals from Craig Lowe, Derry Duffy and Gary Osborne had the Shipyard 4-1 up at the break.
Primrose pulled a goal back in the 53rd minute before the usual raft of substitutes arrived in the second half. Late goals from Darrell Anthony, who scored a cracker and Kevin Masson rounded off the scoring, though Duffy and Masson will be having nightmares about the two sitters they missed, however, those misses kept the crowd entertained.
