Cupar Hearts. 7 Burntisland Shipyard. 0
The Shipyard had no answer to Cupar at Duffus Park in their final game of a poor season. Unavailability, travel difficulties, injury and suspension made manager Whitehead’s job of fielding a team almost impossible.
From the outset it was Cupar who did all the pressing and scoring after only 2 minutes ensured it would be a long night for the Shipyard defence. Two more goals were scored before half-time and Scott Chalmers kept the score down with a fine save from a penalty kick. The second half started in the same fashion and when Cupar were awarded a second penalty, this time it was converted in fine style. Although the Shipyard threatened now and again Cupar continued to score at regular intervals and finished up with a total of seven.
Now that the season is over it will give the manager a chance to build his own squad for the next campaign and hopefully the club can have a better season with a bit more stability all round.
