Shipyard find their shooting boots

The Shipyard gained their first pre-season win against Hearts of Beath at North End Park, running out comfortable 5 – 1 winners. Four unanswered first half goals sealed the win, with the second half being more even as a whole host of changes were made.

A fine strike from James Whyte opened the scoring in the 5th minute and a minute later Steven Dow found the net from long range. A penalty from Bryan Cook after Mark Brough had been fouled made it three and Mark Hamilton made it four on the half hour mark, passing the ball into the net from the edge of the box. Tom Williams headed a fifth at the start of the second half to complete the scoring for the Shipyard. Hearts pulled a goal back in the 67th minute with the striker latching on to a long ball and knocking home the rebound after Andy Martin had blocked his initial effort.
