Shippy nipped as Crabbe grabs hat-trick.
The Shipyard suffered another defeat on Wednesday night, this time to Tynecastle, but at least the hosts had to work for their 4-0 victory as the Shippy produced a much more determined performance than they had at Stirling on Saturday. Indeed it took two contentious offside decisions to present Tynecastle with their first half goals and when you throw in a penalty for the third it would be fair to say it was that kind of night.
Dean Crabbe opened the scoring in the 16th minute before Arran Haddow passed up a great opportunity to draw the Shippy level, however, the Tynecastle keeper thwarted the striker as he smothered the ball. Ryan Ferguson headed the second goal for the Saughton side in the 34th minute.
The Shipyard created some chances with a Stevie Wilson drive not too far away as they kept at it and it was not until the final ten minutes that Tynecastle sealed their victory. The third goal came from the penalty spot with Crabbe converting from 12 yards. Crabbe completed his hat-trick and made it 4-0 in the 86th minute.
The Shipyard are on the road again this weekend with a trip to Coldstream as they face the Streamers at Home Park with the match kicking off at 2.30pm.
